What Is Happening In Nepal Right Now?
Members of our team are currently in Nepal. The situation is back to “normal”. Lockdown has been lifted. All airports, buses, taxis, hotels, restaurants are operating. NO QUARANTINE required for vaccinated persons. Tourists are very welcome with a trek or climbing permit.

We Sherpas are trained to help foreign climbers and trekkers, but few of you have visited.
The Mount Everest Foundation brings local Sherpas together with supporters from around the world to build health, education, environment and culture projects.
We ask that you give what you can, either financially, or through donation of good quality climbing equipment, clothing, and boots, or through joining our remote Nepal Service Treks, visiting Sherpa families and delivering medicines, and books, each November, December, and June.
This year we lost famous Scottish climber Rick Allen, who earned the Piolet d’Or on the Mazeno Ridge with Sandy Allan. Please make a Tribute to Rick with your Donation to one of the Everest Foundation’s projects. We helped rescue Rick on a previous climb. This year we lost Wichita climber Glenn Nyberg to brain cancer. He climbed Cho Oyu’s summit, surviving frostbite and a perforated ulcer. Glenn and his wife Camille went on to build schools and hospitals in Nepal. Please make a Tribute to Glenn with your Donation to one of the Everest Foundation’s projects.
