20 October -

Charles Szekeres - Hi everyone. I was out of contact for several days. So far success on Island Peak. We ( a sherpa and I) were the first for the day. Great weather, amazing view of Lhotse face. The whole summit is the size of a large table, then it drops straight off. Right now I am back in Pengbotche, hoping to take a first shower in 8 days. Tomorrow I'll go up to Ama Dablam base camp and will continue working on acclimatizing.

Charles Szekeres - Today after two rainy days in Namche Bazaar the skies cleared and we headed up valley. Past the Tangboche monostery, we just rolled into Pengbotche. The village sits under Ama Dablam. The mountain did not disappoint, it is very, very imposing. Looks way cooler than Everest in a distance.
