May Greetings from SummitClimb, SummitTrek, and the Mount Everest Foundation

Dear trekking and climbing friends,

Welcome to our May 2014 Newsletter

How are you doing? What adventures do you have planned for the next 6 -12 months? Please get in touch and tell me all about it!

My name is Dan Mazur and for over 10 years I have been working for two well-organized and affordable companies called SummitClimb and SummitTrek.

I am writing to you from my comfortable tent in gorgeous sunny quiet Everest basecamp at 5300 metres / 17,350 feet. It’s a beautiful day with peaks towering above us, the tinkle of yak bells and roar of avalanches in the distance and a few puffy white clouds forming against the blue velvet sky-high ceiling with towering summits of Everest, Nuptse, Lhotse, and Pumori jutting up all around us, as if we lay in the mouth of a dragon.

All of our current trips in Tibet are doing very well, with Everest, Cho Oyu, Everest Tibet North Col training climb, and Everest Tibet Advanced Basecamp trek teams right on target, achieving their goals.

Already the first round of North Col climbers summited. Please go to www.SummitClimbNews.com for more details.

A very sad tragedy has struck on the Nepal side, with a number of Sherpas from other teams passing away beneath an avalanche near the top of the Khumbu icefall. We send our deepest condolences to their families. As a result, our Everest Nepal climb has been postponed to next year and the Government of Nepal has promised a free permit to everyone who could not climb this year.

Not only that, but there will be no repercussions for all of our other Nepal trips going forward this coming Autumn and next spring. That is to say: 100% of our upcoming Nepal trips are going forward exactly as planned.

Even now, our Nepal Training Climb is together with me here in Everest basecamp and our team is training and enjoying the excellent climbing conditions and the peace and quiet. We plan to head back into the Khumbu icefall today and climb a 6000 metre / 19,000 foot high peak later this week. As a bonus, those training climb members on this year's trip will receive a gift from the Government of a free permit next year.

Regarding plans for the next few weeks and months, time is of essence to sign up for our upcoming trips for this Summer, Autumn, next Winter and Spring. We have a fantastic group of leaders and members, so we welcome you and friends to the team!

Perhaps you are an ‘armchair mountaineer? Well you don’t have to miss out… please note that WE PAY YOU CASH FOR TELLING YOUR FRIENDS and bringing us new members. When your friends sign up, we will send you a commission. We call it the "finder's fee", and in 2014, have already sent out more than $15,000 in referral fees and commissions!

In this newsletter we shall be focusing on the second half of 2014. We are planning trips to Mt. Elbrus, Cho Oyu, Shishapangma, Ama Dablam, Baruntse, Mera Peak, Island Peak as well as other interesting treks and training climbs across Nepal, Tibet, China, Africa, and Argentina. Also we will be telling you all about our Spring 2015 expeditions which are already booking up fast.

So let’s move on to the really exciting part where I get to tell you all about our Summer, Autumn and Winter expeditions. Places are limited but currently we do still have availability on all of the following trips

(Please act quickly to avoid disappointment) Back to Top
